Today, we had a visit from our local EMTs, who talked to us about ambulances and emergency tools. We all got to escape the rain by going inside the ambulance, and Madison even got a ride in the motorized stretcher!

Today was a blast...from the past!  We visited Hooksett's very own Head School, where our schoolmarm, Miss Cooms, led us through our lessons and demonstrated a variety of "old school" disciplinary techniques.  We also spent the morning at the town hall, where we got to experience nooning, which allowed us to play recess activities and use toys of days gone by.  I'd like to send a special thank you to our chaperones, who helped our day run smoothly.

Did you know that the spring reading goal for third grade students is to read aloud 123 words per minute?  We practice our oral reading fluency every day at school.  Remember to ask your child to read aloud at home daily to meet our goal!

Earlier this year, Mrs. Beaudoin helped us "Make Way for Ducklings" and led us on a Google Earth tour of all the places we read about in this Robert McCloskey story.  Our class really enjoyed this "virtual field trip" to Boston!
